The songs in Fannie Lou are an original musical mix ranging from roots/blues to operetta in a dynamic, genre-spanning gamut. Audience members have enthusiastically lauded the music, and many have said they're looking forward to the release of a CD of the score. "This Little Light of Mine" actually is not part of the Fannie Lou score, which consists of all orginal music. However, it was recorded early-on because it was one of Fannie Lou Hamer's favorite songs and had been considered for inclusion in the musical before the decision to go with all original music was made.
